Abstract: | Cluster outbreaks have been observed over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic. The two common questions which arise in this context are: how can the outbreak best be brought under control, and how susceptible is the surrounding community to spillover of infection?
We’ll consider lessons learned by looking at large outbreaks across different settings, as well as the many factors which impact how the surrounding communities may be affected. Key to these questions is how well-integrated the cluster population is with the surrounding community, and which self-regulatory behaviours (if any) exist the in population over the course of the outbreak. |
