Question: How important are induction and probation?

As H.R. Business Manager in my School, I’m a strong advocate of Induction and Probation. I think it’s a really important way of welcoming new staff to the University and helping them to settle in. It’s particularly important during those first few weeks and months to give them some structure and to provide them with important information about their role and their department and the University as a whole.
