Abstract: | The work of Swinnerton-Dyer was a source of inspiration for the development of conjectures concerning the precise distribution of rational points of bounded height on Fano varieties. The combination of his ideas with the seminal work of Manin provided an Ariadne thread in understanding the various phenomena pertaining to this distribution. In this talk, I intend to give a survey of these methods, including the Tamagawa measure on adelic spaces and the analysis of accumulating subsets. |
