Abstract:	Look at the girl in the middle, who presents a Silver minus performance. She interacts well, making clear eye contact with both of the other participants; she listens and responds actively throughout the discussion. She is willing to take turns, though the turn-taking in this group is not systematic. She makes clear points and provides reasons, listening carefully to others and asking questions when she requires clarification. She does acknowledge other perspectives, but this is largely a cumulative process (e.g. in the discussion about footballers ‘just pushing round a ball’) rather than a detailed exploration of ideas. She does not sustain the dialogue by managing the group talk in any way, and fairly quickly loses interest in a topic when she has made her points.
