Abstract: | Presenters: Professor Palmira Jucevičienė, Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) and Professor Robertas Jucevičius, Director of the Institute of Business Strategy, Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), Lithuania
Professor Palmira Jucevičienė is Leader of the Researchers’ School of Education at KTU and President of the Lithuanian Educational Research Association. She has a long-term link with St. Edmund’s College, University of Cambridge, where she was elected a Visiting Fellow in 2002-2003 and 2007-2008. Her research interests are higher education, learning, human resource development and knowledge management. She is co-author of Educational power of the university (2012). Professor Robertas Jucevičius is the author of The Strategic Organizational Development (Strateginis organizaciju vystymas) (1998) and a number of articles on strategic management, competitiveness and innovation. Professors Palmira Jucevičienė and Robertas Jucevičius co-edited the book Higher education and national development: Universities and societies in transition (2007) in collaboration with Professor David Bridges and the late Professor Terence McLaughlin. Discussant: Professor David Bridges, Director of Research, Mongolia and Kazakhstan Programmes, Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge David Bridges was formerly Deputy Principal at Homerton College before moving to a Chair at the University of East Anglia, where he became Dean of the Faculty of Education and then Pro Vice Chancellor. In 2000 he took up a position as Executive Director of the Association of Universities in the East of England based in the East of England Development Agency. Shortly after this he also became Chair of the Von Hugel Institute at St Edmund’s College University of Cambridge. As well as the edited collection with Jucevičienė et al his published work includes Education and the Marketplace (ed. with Terence McLaughlin) Consorting and collaborating in the education marketplace (ed. with Chris Husbands) and a series of reports on widening access to higher education. In 2007 he was elected a foreign member of the Lithuanian Academy of Science. |
