Abstract: | Simon Davies is a partner and patent attorney at D Young & Co. His practice covers mainly computing and related fields, such as electronics, telecommunications, and software applications. He is also a member of Council of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA) as well as Chair ofthe CIPA computer technology committee. In the latter role, he has been very active in the debate surrounding the patentability of computer software, including at the European Parliament and the European Patent Office.
Julian Potter is a partner, patent attorney and trade mark attorney at WP Thompson. His technical areas of expertise include telecommunications and associated technologies including design and fabrication; semiconductors; optics; control systems; software; cryptography; mechanical engineering; nanotechnology; mechanical devices; nuclear physics and imaging; electronics and micro processor design; voice recognition and text-to-speech conversion and oil services technology. He is also chairman of the CIPA Parliamentary Committee. |
