| Abstract: | In this Cambridge Centre for Public Law Seminar, Professor Mark Elliott critically examines the judgment of the UK Supreme Court in the Miller case. The Court held that the process of withdrawing from the EU under Article 50 of the Treaty on European Union could not be begun until Parliament had legislated to authorise the initiation of the withdrawal process. In this talk, Professor Elliott scrutinises and finds wanting the reasoning found in the majority judgment, and considers what the broader implications of this case might be. |
