Abstract: We propose a simple stringy mechanism that prefers metastable vacua with a small cosmological constant. We argue the generic probability distribution for the metastable vacua which peaks with a divergent behavior at the zero value of cosmological constant. Then we illustrate this in a model of type IIB string theory, though the suppression in the model is modest.
