Abstract:	In this first 1-min. clip we see primary school teacher Diane’s use of a recorded version of on-screen text, where she played an audio file of herself reading out a personal safety scenario for children (aged 10) to discuss. This use of recording brings a different voice to the classroom and allows the teacher to focus on the pupils’ reactions rather than on the act of reading. See Clip 2 for the pupils’ subsequent activity around this scenario. This footage was collected during the IWBs and Dialogic Teaching research study funded by the UK Economic and Social Research Council (ref. RES-063-27-0081) as part of a personal Research Fellowship carried out by Sara Hennessy during 2007-10. ref. Diane Lesson 2: 14.09.42- 14.10.57 (D2.2s).
