Part two - Q&A with Professor Parry (8min).

Part three - Adam Steenkamp on the ways the Research Office can help (9min).

Part five - Q&A with Adam Steenkamp and Jenna Ng (5min 30sec).

"Departments send around 40 applications (total across the arts / humanities) to the Newton Trust. The Newton Trust selects around 20 of these to support… Of these, 4 or 5 are ultimately funded by the Leverhulme Trust."

"The deadline of January might seem a long way off, but there is a lot to do between now and then."

"You do battle with the online application system. Leave enough time for this."

"The keyword is 'justify'. Why you, why here, why this project, why now?"

"Applying for grants is a long, hard slog: you need to take it seriously. Having said that, don't take it too seriously - if you don't get this one, something else will come up."
