Abstract: | Advances in population genetics and genomics in the last decade have allowed a better understanding of when and where our species (Homo sapiens sapiens) started the journey that led to the colonization of all continents. Recent findings using ancient DNA from bones have also shed light on likely interbreeding events between our species and other Homo species such as the Neanderthals. These findings will be presented and we will briefly discuss how they can resonate with some of the most common Christian viewpoints on our origins. |
