|Abstract:||Most of us appreciate being heard and truly understood, all the way down. It is not a common experience however. Much of the time we are catching the gist of what others are saying, or perhaps even 'knowing' what the other person is going to say before they do! At other times we are busily thinking about what we're going to say in response whilst others are talking. Learning how to listen improves not only the experience for speaker and listener. It can dramatically improve the quality of the discourse itself. Once we enter into an authentic conversation there is much more to be communicated than we could have even anticipated. In this session you will have a taster experience of listening deeply, as well as an opportunity to reflect upon your own response to being heard in this way. Key aspects of having an authentic conversation will be identified so that you can replicate this experience for yourself in the future.
